The Arkansas State flag has a white diamond shape outlined in blue on a red field which represents the only state in America where diamonds have been mined and discovered. 25 white stars against the blue outline represent Arkansas being the 25th State of the Union. The white area of the flag reads Arkansas and has 4 blue stars. The top star representing the Confederate States of American while the other 3 stars represent the other countries that had ruled over Arkansas previously, Spain, France and the United States. The flag was originally designed by Willie Hocker.
